The Artist

Hi 👋🏻, I’m Miriah, I’m a self-taught artist/crafter with a passion for learning. I have been painting since my mid-teens, but I didn’t really start getting serious about art until my early 20s. Now, I’m in my mid-30s and I create and use my imagination any chance I get!

Art is my therapy, it helps fuel ideas, and feeds my soul. I love trying out new ways to be creative, like using forks or string to give a painting more texture and depth. I’m currently focusing on graphic art, but enjoyed everything from paper mache, pyrography, jewelry making, Cricut crafts, and more!

About four years ago I was given the opportunity to shadow and then eventually work the owner and operator of two well known food blogs. It was then that I began learning about SEO, content creation, social media management, blog writing, keyword research… the list goes on! These skills have given me unique insight into content creation which has helped me to provide creative services that extend past art and design.

I’m currently living in NC with my sexy drummer/baker husband, empathetic/imaginative teenager, energetic/spunky toddler, and my fickle/fluffy feline. We intend to stay here for at least 5 years😜 (we’ve moved a lot), and hope to buy a house in the near future.

The Idea

The name ARTOVERTHOUGHT came about from my passion for art and my tendency to overthink everything. I wanted to share my artistic side and offer creative skills in hopes to inspire people, while making a little extra money along the way. Unfortunately, I am an overthinker and I will overthink any idea until I’ve convinced myself not to do it. So, I didn’t give myself a chance this time and during a spontaneous moment, I purchased a domain.

Website development wasn’t something I knew anything about, but I’m pretty good at googling. I figured it would be as easy as reading a few how-to articles and I’d be set. Ha, there’s a reason website developers make the big bucks😜. I’m still googling and I still have a lot to learn, but I’m proud of how far it’s come.

This site has already changed a few times. It seems the more I learn, the more I understand what I’d like to put out there. I don’t have all the answers, but I know I want a site that’s inclusive, inspires and makes you think. This is my attempt at giving the best, most genuine parts of myself to the world, so no pressure. 😬

Thanks for visiting my site!
